Chalco's FY'19 net profit climbs as higher trading volumes lift revenue

Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd., or Chalco, recorded a full-year 2019 attributable net profit of 851.0 million Chinese yuan, increasing from a year-ago net profit of 707.5 million yuan.

The company's revenue climbed 5.5% to 190.07 billion yuan, mainly due to higher trading volumes for electrolytic aluminum and alumina.

However, gross profit slid to 12.13 billion yuan from 13.21 billion yuan due to a higher cost of sales.

As of March 26, US$1 was equivalent to 7.07 Chinese yuan.
