Aries Poon is the editorial lead of Asia-Pacific Financial Institutions Group, overseeing the coverage of banking, insurance and financial services in the region. He is also the head of the Hong Kong newsroom, which has journalists covering the region’s media & technology, healthcare and commodities sectors. Before joining S&P Global Market Intelligence, Aries had spent two decades covering financial news in Asia and managing newsrooms at The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, Thomson Reuters and Caixin in Hong Kong, Taipei and Beijing.

A Hong Kong native, Aries has a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. He is also a part-time lecturer of global media at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
