Pierre Davis

Chief Legal Officer

Pierre Davis is Chief Legal Officer for S&P Global Platts, a division of S&P Global and the leading provider of information and benchmarks for the energy and commodities markets.

Pierre is responsible for all legal support for the Platts division of S&P Global. In 2015 Pierre relocated from the U.S. to the U.K. to work from the London office and is a member of the Platts Executive Committee.

Pierre joined S&P Global in 2005 as Associate General Counsel, and has spent most of his time in recent years on S&P Global Platts and S&P Dow Jones Indices matters, particularly related to the emerging standards and regulations that apply to those divisions.

Prior to joining S&P Global, Pierre was an associate in the litigation department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York, where he focused on intellectual property litigation, with a specific emphasis on copyright law.

Pierre received a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles, and his juris doctorate degree from Columbia Law School.
