Wind covered over 21% of European power demand for a second consecutive week, with week 11 setting a new 2019-high of 13.9 TWh generated, averaging 82.7 GW per hour.

Year-to-date EU wind output at 107 TWh is up 15% on the same period last year, according to data aggregated by German wind energy consultancy IWR.

Total wind output so far this year is the energy equivalent of 212 standard LNG cargoes, 29 more than last year.

Denmark's share of wind in its generation mix was pegged at 115% Sunday, topping the daily WindEurope data tables.

Wind generation is forecast to drop below average for week 12, with Germany experiencing a sharp decline from Tuesday to at least Friday, the latest forecast by spotrenewables.com showed.

Solar was forecast only slightly higher on an average baseload basis with the solar impact mainly felt around midday.

Strong wind output in week 10 and 11 pushed German spot prices to their lowest for a winter working week since 2016, with the March average on track for a 14-month low.
