SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches Nigeria, Canary Islands bunker assessments

Platts has launched assessments for 380 CST and 180 CST bunker fuel and Marine Gasoil (MGO) in Offshore Nigeria and the Canary Islands with effect from January 4, 2016.

The new assessments reflect specifications conforming to ISO 8217: 2005.

The 380 CST and 180 CST assessments reflect material with a maximum sulfur content of 3.5%. The Canary Islands MGO assessment reflects material with a maximum sulfur content of 0.1%. The Offshore Nigeria MGO assessment reflects material with a maximum sulfur content of 1.5%.

Specification and assessment parameters are detailed in Platts Europe and Africa Refined Oil Products Methodology and Specifications Guide.

The new assessments reflect material for delivery 1-8 days forward.

The new Canary Islands assessments will typically be assessed at parity to Platts existing Las Palmas/Tenerife assessments.

Platts publishes these new assessments in Bunkerwire and Marine Alert, with pages and market database symbols to be announced in due course.
