Diversity and Inclusion at S&P Global

Difference is more than something we celebrate. It's essential to our success.

S&P Global embraces and supports the qualities that make our employees unique, including race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, citizenship status, veteran status and disability.

Areas of focus:

Our D&I strategic imperatives are to increase diversity in all forms, further embed an inclusive culture across our organization, and strengthen policies and programs that enable employees to meet their potential.

Our Approach

Without the diversity of people and perspectives, we lose something essential.

Our Diversity and Inclusion efforts are directly connected to S&P Global's Core Values.

With approximately 100 offices across 31 countries, our employees reflect our diverse client base and our commitment to meeting market needs.

A diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace allow innovation and product and service excellence to flourish.

Respecting others and treating each other fairly define S&P Global as an organization. Acting with integrity is at the core of D&I. It's who we are.

"S&P Global’s commitment to diversity and inclusion helps us deliver the essential intelligence that markets count on around the world.

We celebrate the individual perspectives our employees bring, recognizing that our different experiences and backgrounds enable us to better serve our diverse customers worldwide. But we are always moving forward. There is a great deal more that we can and will do to increase the diversity in our workforce, and we are focused on leveraging our values of relevance, integrity and excellence."

Our people are our most essential asset.

S&P Global’s success relies on the intelligence and acumen of the people behind the insights we deliver. Engagement with the world around us, having a culture where innovation thrives and operating successfully in highly interconnected markets can only happen with a workforce reflective of this globality and creativity.

Talent Acquisition

S&P Global takes extensive measures to ensure that hiring practices attract the widest, most diverse talent pool.

Mentoring and Connecting Colleagues Around the World

Operating on five continents, S&P Global has built a network of colleagues who foster our mentoring culture.

Professional Development

We aim to develop the knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities of each employee via e-learning courses and instructor-led classes.

In 2016, 95% of participants rated our mentoring program 'excellent' and nearly all said they would recommend the program to others.

Our passion is creating a workplace where all employees can thrive.

It's been said that diversity is the mix and inclusion is maximizing the mix. At S&P Global we strive in both areas so that each employee reaches his or her full potential.

In a company-wide, global employee survey in 2016, 80% agreed that "I can be myself at work." That's an important benchmark for us, and our goal is for 100% of employees to feel this way.

Celebrating Diversity and Leadership

Our inclusive work environment is a hallmark of S&P Global, and we recognize employees who champion this collaborative spirit.

Engaging our Employees

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) touch thousands of employees who come together based on shared characteristics or life experiences to foster professional development, and support business success and community engagement.

"Persistence and education is a recipe for success that can smash any glass ceiling."

Collaboration fuels our progress.

Our impact on the marketplace extends beyond our Company. We partner with organizations that lift up the next generation of diverse leaders, and we support diverse business owners. The market has recognized our efforts globally, including earning spots on the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers rankings in India and the United States.

Valued Sponsorships and Partnerships

As a global company, we invest in partnerships that inspire our employees around the world.

Supplier Diversity

Our efforts to promote diversity and inclusion extend to our supply chain. In 2016, we launched a new Supplier Diversity program, seeking to actively recruit and engage with diverse suppliers at a faster rate.

We are proud of the external recognition we receive for our progress in diversity and inclusion within and beyond our workplace. Below are awards we received in 2016, along with recognition for outstanding S&P Global employees who showcase the diversity and talent of our global family.
