Julie Martin has spent over 30 years in the automotive industry, working in leadership positions in both sales and purchasing at Ford, Visteon, and HELLA. She joined IHS Markit as Vice President of OEM Sales in January 2021.Julie began her business career as a production buyer with Ford Motor Company in 1989 and progressed through a series of purchasing positions in electronics, assembly operations, powertrain and interiors. She went on to hold a series of senior management positions at Visteon before joining HELLA in 2009.At HELLA, she served as Head of Purchasing for electronics, leading production and non-production purchasing as well as supplier quality for Hella's electronics plants in North America. In 2014, Julie transitioned into her first sales role and was named a corporate Vice President of Sales at Hella with global responsibility for lighting and electronics products.In January 2021, she joined IHS Markit's leadership team bringing diverse automotive experiences and a strong collaborative leadership style, with an intense customer focus to deepen connections across the OEM client base.Julie was honored by Automotive News in 2015 as one of the top 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry. She holds a bachelor's degree in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University and is a member of the Executive Advisory Council of AWAF (Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation).Julie is an avid runner, completing her ninth Half Marathon in 2021. She also enjoys cooking and renovating her 1893 cottage home in Holland, MI with her husband of 31 years. She has two adult children (Alec - 29; Lauren - 27), who also work in the automotive industry.
